Sofia is a sweet 4 year old who was born with Cerebral Palsy. She uses a wheelchair that is slightly reclined, and has a computer that she controls with her eyes in order to communicate. After recognizing her love for music, her mother decided to have her evaluated for music therapy and lessons. They needed a piano for her but because of her wheelchair, a console or upright piano wouldn't be tall enough.
Bea Anson was a piano teacher for 35 years in Atascadero. She is now suffering from Alzheimers and Dementia. Her daughter, Judes Kingsbury, called MUSE and asked if anyone could use her mother’s piano. It is a 1974 Viennese Edition Kimball Baby Grand Piano, and exactly right for Sofia’s wheelchair to fit under! Judes gets a tax deduction for the full market value of the piano, and Sofia gets a beautiful baby grand piano to use for FREE for as long as she is taking piano lessons… and her sister gets to play on it too!
